Production | Fertile Egg Production

As one of the largest suppliers of day old chicks to independent broiler growers, National Chicks have ensured that we employ the best technical team available to successfully rear parent birds and produce quality hatching eggs.

At 24 weeks of age, the breeding stock is sufficiently mature to begin producing fertile eggs. These eggs are hand collected from the nesting boxes in the breeder houses four times a day and carefully graded to ensure that only first grade eggs are used for hatching. They are then transported by truck to the hatchery where they are held in air-conditioned egg stores for up to a week before being set in the state of the art incubators.
